Dr Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Panjab University conducted its second White Coat Ceremony and Induction Programme for the BDS first year students of batch 2013 at the University Auditorium on Friday.
It turned out to be indeed a memorable day for the first year students. White Coat Ceremony is conducted every year at the Institute to educate the fresher students about the responsibilities and expectations from them.
The ceremony marks students symbolic joining in the noble profession of Dentistry. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Arun K Grover presided over the function. Director-Principal, Govt Medical College and Hospital, Dr Atul Sachdev was the Guest of Honour. PU Vice-Chancellor addressed the students and discussed the growing gap between the need of the medical professionals and the demand.
Admission for B ED courses to begin today
Chandigarh: The third phase of counseling for admission to about 20,000 seats of B Ed in various colleges of the State under Ch Devi lal University, Sirsa will commence from September 21.
A spokesman of the University said that as per the directions of the State Government, admissions to B Ed courses in all colleges in the State would be completed by October 15 and after that no admission would be made to these courses.
He said that under the third phase, students could apply for left out seats in government and government aided colleges last by Oct 3. The application fee for General Category students would be Rs3,000 whereas it would be Rs2,625 for Reserved Category students.
CDlU to start online admissions soon
Chandigarh: Ch Devi lal University, Sirsa would start online admission procedure from the next academic session. Under this system, admissions would be conducted online in all 19 degree colleges under the University and all teaching departments of the university. The examination upto graduate level courses would begin from November 23 in all colleges under the University.
