BJP president Amit Shah has claimed that the recent action initiated by the Modi-led Central Government to stop terror funding in Kashmir Valley was the first of its kind by any Government to slash the roots of militancy in Jammu and Kashmir.
Shah, however, evaded the issue of Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
"You all know that there are many requirements (for this)," said he, when asked about the issue of Article 370.
"Regarding finding a solution to the Kashmir problem, the action has been done in that direction only. Never have people who had been doing so much hawala been caught. If any harsh action has been taken against those involved in terror funding, it is the BJP Government that has done it," said Amit Shah while taking to mediapersons at Rohtak on Thursday.
Responding to a question related to Pakistan's support to terrorist groups, Shah said that India had been able to isolate Pakistan on the issue of terrorism.
"We have isolated Pakistan on the issue of terrorism in the entire world successfully in these three years. We have killed so many terrorists (in recent months). That has not happened before. When there is a fight, the damage is on both sides. Bullets are being fired from both sides," said he, when asked about the increase in casualty figures in the recent times. Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Haryana and is staying at Rohtak.
lashing out at the Congress on the issue of OBC Commission Bill, Amit Shah said that since 1955, people belonging to OBCs had been demanding constitutional recognition to the OBC Commission but due to its anti-OBC mindset, the Congress forced certain amendments in the Bill as a result of which it could not be passed in the Upper House.
Shah was referring to the proceedings in the Rajya Sabha on July 31, when a united Opposition pushed some changes in the Constitution amendment Bill on backward classes, leaving the ruling side red-faced.
"Despite the BJP saying to the Opposition party that the amendments that had been proposed were not possible, the Congress deliberately stuck to it and the Bill was scuttled," claimed Shah.
He added, "Because of this incident, the anti-backward mentality of the Congress has been exposed."
The BJP chief held out an assurance that the Bill giving constitutional recognition to the OBC Commission would be got passed in both Houses of Parliament at any cost.
Talking about the issue of black money in the country, Amit Shah said, "The Narendra Modi Government is working towards the implementation of strict action against black money and also to bring transparency in the political funding."
"The Government has taken steps to ensure that India becomes a global economic power. We have provided a decisive and corruption-free Government. Not even the Opposition parties have been able to point a finger over corruption," Shah said.
