Hand over parking lots : Bansal

Chandigarh: Former Union Minister and ex-city MP Pawan Kumar Bansal has demanded that the management of parking in the city be handed over to the Market Associations and Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs), as the case may be. Terming the announcement by the city MP Kirron Kher about reduction in the parking charges as too little-too late, Bansal said, the decision was taken only because of people anger over the Administration and Municipal Corporation messing up the parking issue and confirmed his earlier view that the contractor had been unduly favoured by permitting four-fold increase in the charges, first from Rs 5 to Rs 10 and then to Rs 20 in a very short time.
