Hry Govt to undertake census operations
Chandigarh: To facilitate Haryana Government to undertake census operations in accordance with the census Rules 1990 (Rule 8 (iv) of the Census Act 1948, Haryana Revenue and Disaster Management Department has notified that the administrative boundaries of all the districts, tehsils, villages, etc would stand frozen till March 31, 2021. Additional Chief Secretary and Financial Commissioner, Revenue and Disaster Management Department, Vijai Vardhan said that Directorate of Census Operations Haryana had requested the Revenue and Disaster Management Department that according to Census Rules 1990 that there would be no change in the administrative boundaries of districts, tehsils, and villages, etc. so that census operations are carried out in the state. Therefore the Department has taken the decision to freeze the administrative boundaries of all the districts, tehsils, villages, etc, he said.
Two held with 270 kg doda post from Karnal
Chandigarh: Haryana Police has arrested two persons from whom 270 kg of doda post was seized. A spokesperson said, a CIA team had got a tip-off that a large haul of drug consignment is being supplied in a canter bearing Haryana registration number for supply in Haryana and Punjab area. Acting swiftly, police laid a special naka and stopped a canter for checking. When searched, police found bags containing a total of 270 kg doda post concealed in between empty vegetable crates. Arrested accused were identified as Rakesh, a resident of district Kurukehtra and Boota Singh of district Patiala, Punjab. A case under the provisions of NDPS Act was registered and further investigation is on, the spokesman said.
BJP, Cong, JJP leaders in my contact: Abhay
Chandigarh: Naresh Sharma, a former MLA from Congress, joined INLD in the party office in the presence of INLD senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala. Abhay told the mediapersons that leaders from BJP, Congress and JJP are in his contact. On the occasion, Abhay appointed Naresh Sharma as the State Spokesperson of the party. Former BSP state president Prakash Bharti also met Abhay along with his colleagues in Chandigarh and expressed faith in the policies of the INLD party. He will join INLD party next week.
