After being booked by Vigilance Bureau for forging documents to purchase land, the otherwise shy Arun Dhumal, younger son of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, on Monday challenged Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh that if he wants all out war, then they are ready.
Arun Dhumal was recently booked by State vigilance bureau and anti-corruption unit alongwith his elder brother Anurag Thakur who heads Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA).
Dhumal junior who had till now refrained from coming into limelight, produced documents of the land in question and tried to justify that there were no malafide intentions involved.
“I have some specific questions that under whose complaint the case was lodged or how come vigilance came into picture in the sale and purchase of land by private individuals or are every land deals in the State being probed or just a specific family is being targeted off and on,” said Arun Dhumal.
He claimed that no wrongdoings have been done in the purchase of piece of land and showed an affidavit of one Premu the seller of the 34 Marlas of land to him and his elder brother.
“Premu who has now died in his affidavit submitted to the registrar had said that he does not become landless after selling this land as claimed by vigilance officials,” said Dhumal junior adding that the land was indeed allotted to the seller but it was sold after the cap period of 15 years was over.
He said in Centre CBI, acts like Congress Bureau of Investigation and in Himachal it is vigilance bureau which is working as vendetta bureau for Congress Government.
“We have enough papers to justify our claims on the land and if Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh still wants the war of mudslinging, then we are ready for it,” said Dhumal.
Replying to a question about the intent of purchase of land, Dhumal said that the land in question was purchased in 2007 with an intent that the said land will be developed and a house will be built, as it was near the international cricket stadium, the area which is gradually developing.
“Chief minister Virbhadra Singh has been targeting HPCA headed by Anurag Thakur, targeting my father Prem Kumar Dhumal by alleging frivolous allegations and now targeting me,” said Dhumal adding that anticipating the vendetta politics by Congress Government, Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) was converted into company from society to free it from the interference of the State Government.
