Senior IAS officer of Haryana cadre, who is accused of sexually harassing a woman IAS in his Department, on Wednesday appeared before the Haryana State Commission for Women.

The additional chief secretary-level officer denied the allegations leveled by the woman officer.

Appearing before the Commission, the senior IAS officer stated that  he had always tried to ensure that someone was present in his office while she was there.

He said that the allegations against him are baseless and he only did his duty while giving directions to the woman officer related to official files.

The woman officer had appeared before the Commission on Monday and apprised the panel about the entire incident for few hours.

The woman, an officer of the 2014 batch, had said in a Facebook post on Sunday that the senior officer would make her stay late at work — until 7 or 8 pm, make unwanted advances, and even tried to threaten her for writing adverse comments on official file.

In her Facebook post, she  had also alleged, “The superior officer threatened to file a complaint and spoil my Annual Confidential Report (ACR) if I do not stop writing adverse comments on the official files”.
