Haryana Urban local Bodies Minister Kavita Jain on Saturday named Anu Kumari, who got 2nd rank in the Civil Services exam, as the brand ambassador for the Beti Bachao-Beti Padhao Programme in Sonipat district.
“The significant achievement of Anu Kumari has given a befitting reply to such people as have killed their daughters in the womb. She has emerged as an inspiration in changing the mindset of people towards the girl child,” Jain said.
Congratulating Anu Kumari and members of her family on her success, the Minister said today daughters are in no way behind in any field.
There is need to give them opportunity to prove their mettle. It is a matter of pride not only for Sonepat but for the entire Haryana that daughter from an ordinary family has proved her mettle in the All India Civil Services exam by securing 2nd rank.
Among top five ranks of UPSC, three ranks have been bagged by the youth from Haryana and Anu Kumari has secured the second place.
Health Minister, Anil Vij, Member of Parliament, Ramesh Chander Kaushik, and Chairperson,
Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board, Krishna Gahlawat, have also congratulated Anu Kumari on her achievement.
