Following the call given by Haryana School lecturers’ Association (HSlA), district unit of the association on Thursday boycotted the evaluation process of answer sheets of first semester of 10+2 examination held by the Haryana School Education Board (HSEB).

The HSEC authorities have set up two evaluation centres in Bahadurgarh and Jhajjar towns and have roped in around 300 lecturers to carry out the evaluation work. However, the lecturers reached the centres in the morning but they raised anti-Government slogans after boycotting the evaluation work.

Kaptan Singh, district president of the HSlA, said they had several times met the authorities for getting their long-pending demands met but no body was ready to pay attention towards it. “In the given situation, we have not other option except to boycott the evaluation of the answer sheets to mount pressure on the Government,” said the president.

He informed that the association was demanding grade pay of `5400 at the parity of school headmasters; PhD and NET pass lecturers should be provided a quota in higher education institutions and change of the nomenclature of the newly appointed lecturers as PGT to lecturers and formation of inter-college on the lines of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
