In a new people-friendly initiative, the Haryana Government will set up a ‘CM window’ at the Secretariat in each district for grievance redressal of the people.
The announcement came by Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar in his Assembly constituency Karnal, from where he was elected for the first time in the October Assembly polls. He thanked the people for the support they extended to him and his party in the polls. “If you have any complaint, register them on the Chief Minister’s Grievances Window that would be set up in each district for instant redressal of complaints. You can look forward to an SMS or call on the action taken,” Khattar said while addressing a public meeting in Karnal.
Khattar asked the complainants to mention their mobile numbers so that they could be informed through SMSs or over phone about the action taken on their complaints. “All complaints will be processed instantly. Everyday, I will myself review the action taken on the complaints by the Deputy Commissioners,” the Chief Minister said. “Our first priority is to make Haryana a corruption-free state. It is the foremost duty of public servants to provide timely services to people,” he said.
Khattar also said appropriate measures would be adopted to tackle the problem of unemployment in the state. “Employment will be provided on the basis of merit. Appropriate steps will be taken to root out the problem from the State,” he said.
“Immediate steps would be taken against private schools for arbitrarily hiking school fees,” the CM said while referring to the request of The Guardian Integration Association. He also asked officers and NGOs working in the state to actively participate in the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachchh Bharat mission.
The chief minister said that the schemes to be formulated by the present government would have participation of the people. The people of the State, he said, had given him positive mandate. He said that the grievances of the people would be redressed on priority basis.
Talking to mediapersons on a query for giving pay scales to Haryana employees on the pattern of Punjab, he said that their interests would be safeguarded. “The Government is aware of pay anomalies and it is in the process to set everything in order. However, as all decisions are taken on the basis of the state exchequer, the issues would be resolved after studying it,” he added. In reply to a question about irregularities in the disbursement of pension, the Chief Minister said that strict action would be taken against the defaulters.
On a question concerning the Western bypass of Karnal, he said that instructions have been issued to prepare a plan in this regard and the issue has been taken up with National Highway Authority of India. The concerned officers have been directed to send its proposal to the Central Government.
