Haryana Government is all set to paint the ailing healthcare institutions in healing colours. Health Minister Anil Vij has planned to paint all Government healthcare buildings in the same soothing colour pattern. Just six months in power, Anil Vij has apparently vowed to transform the entire healthcare sector in the State. To begin with, the Minister has asked the Health Department’s senior officials and civil surgeons to suggest a calming and soothing colour palette that can give superior looks and ambience besides bringing similarity in all government-run health care institutions.
“The aim is give a new and fresher look to the old Government healthcare buildings and bring in similarity in such institutions so that people can easily identify them from a distance,” said Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij while talking to The Pioneer. The Minister said, “A colour palette will be selected soon and the exteriors of all the government hospitals will be painted in the same colour.”
After BJP led Haryana Government stormed to power in October last year, the Minister had started conducting surprise visits at various government officers and medical institutions across the state, becoming the most active and action-oriented minister in the State Government. To transform Haryana’s ailing healthcare sector, the Minister has asked the Civil Surgeons to come up with their suggestions and “out of the box” ideas to improve the medical care facilities in the state, which has a population of more than 2.5 crore people.
At present, acute shortage of manpower in the health centres coupled with disproportionate concentration of health workers in Haryana continues to be the major obstacle before State Government’s mission to provide effective healthcare to one and all. Manohar lal-led Haryana Government is now focusing on recruitment drive to attract doctors towards the Government jobs by offering a handsome salary and other lucrative facilities on the pattern of private hospitals.
Vij said, “I have taken up the issue with Chief Minister and the Health Department has prepared a proposal to offer handsome salary to specialists in government hospitals to ensure that the vacant posts are filled and the specialists prefer to stay in government services.” “The Department will fill as many as 900 vacant posts in various health centres across the state,” he added.
The Health Minister has also directed the Civil Surgeons in the districts to submit information about the requirement of various medical equipments in the health institutions. Vij informed that a plan is underway to provide dialysis facility in all the district hospitals. Also, MRI and CT scan machines will be set up in all districts hospitals. Initially, MRI and CT scan machines would be set up in five district hospitals of Faridabad, Gurgaon, Panipat, Panchkula and Bhiwani.
The Health Minister had also directed all the Civil Surgeons to get CCTV cameras installed in hospitals of the state. Notably, the five-time MlA Vij, who represents the Ambala Cantt assembly seat, is the most prolific tweeple among Haryana Ministers and continues to remain in the limelight due to his tweets.
