In a major relief to contractual government employees, the Manohar Lal Khattar Government in Haryana will begin the process of regularizing them ahead of State Assembly elections due to be held in October this year.

Regularization of jobs is among the major demands being raised by the government employees unions in Haryana in the past few years.

“The State Government will scrutinize about 40000 contractual employees for regularization of jobs. The scrutiny of contractual employees will be done on the basis of their educational qualification, service record and interview,” said an officer in Chief Minister’s office on Tuesday.

The sanctioned vacant posts in various departments will be filled through this process, he said. He added that the process of scrutiny for regularization of contractual employees will begin soon in the state.

Notably, the government employee unions in Haryana had a day before demanded regularization of jobs and restoration of old pension scheme ahead of the upcoming Assembly polls in the Haryana.

Sarv Karamchari Sangh (SKS) general secretary Subhash Lamba had said that there are more than 50000 employees in government departments or other bodies who need to be regularised.

The employees unions have also announced to hold state-level rally in August or September to raise their long-pending demands and chalk out a plan for agitation.
