Hry Minister hits back at Surjewala

Published on:

Accusing the former minister and Congress MlA, Randeep Singh Surjewala, of playing cheap politics, Haryana Minister of State for labour and Employment, Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday said that the Congress Government had left the future of thousands of JBT teachers in the dark but the present BJP Government has made their future better.

Terming the protest by AICC media-incharge Surjewala on HSSC scam in Panchkula as a “nautanki” in the name of the future of youth, the Minister said it was ridiculous that such people had played part-time politics in the state, and never performed, were speaking about the interests of Haryana.

Surjewala on Wednesday led a protest ‘Rozgar bachao, Haryana bachao’ in Panchkula.  He  demanded that the Haryana Government should disband Haryana Staff Selection Commission after the cash-for-job scam and get an inquiry done into the scam by  an independent judicial investigation through two sitting High Court Judge.

Responding to Surjewala, Minister Nayab Saini said, “In the Vidhan Sabha, public representatives normally raise issues concerning the people of their respective areas but Surjewala does not bother to attend the House. At the mercy of the Gandhi family to save his political fortunes, he comes to Haryana just to remain in media headlines.”

Before accusing the BJP, the Congress should introspect what kind of misdeeds its government did during its tenure, he added.

Coming down heavily on the Congress, Saini said leaders who were protesting now for the sake of youth seem to have forgotten how they had spoiled the system by showing disrespect to qualified youth.

During the reign of former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, officers were appointed at CM’s residence for making lists for appointments and giving jobs to undeserving candidates on the basis of the slips given by the Congress leaders.

Names of candidates who would be recruited and their relations with Congress leaders used to hit the headlinies months before the recruitment was done, said he.

When results came same names figured in the selection list. Why the Congress remained silent then, he asked.

Saini asked Surjewala why he remained silent when Hooda discriminated against other districts and gave jobs only to the citizens of Rohtak, instead of giving jobs on merit.

The Minister further said the Chief Minister Manohar lal, showed the courage to nab corrupt officials in HSSC who were playing with the future of the youth. Had there been Congress or INlD Government, cases of corruption in recruitment would have been buried, he added.
