Hry Govt writes to Centre seeking CBI probe

Haryana Government has written to the Centre seeking a CBI probe into the gruesome murder of a seven-year old boy at Gurugram’s Ryan International School.

“The State Government has sent a written communication which has been received by the Central Government,” said Haryana Additional Chief Secretary, Home, SS Prasad on Tuesday. “It is our endeavour to get a CBI inquiry initiated into this case at the earliest. The state’s Home Department is maintaining constant communication with the central government,” he said.

The murder of Pradyuman Thakur, who was found with his throat slit in a school washroom, had triggered a nation-wide furore.

Accepting a demand of the victim’s family, Haryana Government had last week decided to hand over the probe in the murder to the CBI. Chief Minister Manohar lal Khattar had met the family of victim in Gurugram and assured them of CBI probe into the incident.
