Hry Govt reviews performance, sets new roadmap

Published on:

With the first BJP-led Haryana Government under Manohar lal Khattar completing its two-and-a-half years in the State, the Chief Minister seems to have swung into action to expedite the implementation of his Government’s announcements besides trying to extend an olive branch to his detractors.

Under fire for his failure to deliver on the “good governance” promise and for sluggish pace of implementation of his “announcements”, the Chief Minister on Tuesday held a routine informal cabinet meeting at Faridabad to discuss the government’s performance and chalk out a roadmap for ahead.

The meeting which lasted for more than four hours was attended by state general secretary (organization) BJP, Suresh Bhatt, Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala and all Cabinet Ministers.

With an eye on the lok Sabha and Assembly polls 2019, directions were issued to the Cabinet Ministers to connect with the people of the state and also, disseminate information about the development works carried out by the BJP Government so far.

The Cabinet Ministers were asked to meet the general public atleast twice a month at their residence or office to address their grievances and send out a message that the government is working with the ideology of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’.

During the meeting, projects and schemes which are already implemented or are in the pipeline were reviewed. It was also emphasized to fix a deadline, for implementation of various announcements related to schemes and projects made by the Chief Minister.

Notably, the infighting within the Haryana BJP unit has been on for past several months, with at least 16 MlAs issuing statements against the Chief Minister at various public forums.

Miffed over the “unsupportive attitude” of the bureaucrats in Haryana and sluggish pace of implementation of CM’s announcement, the BJP MlAs have time and again expressed resentment against their own Government.

Meanwhile, the State Government on Tuesday also chalked out a strategy for the one-day Vidhan Sabha session convened on May 4 for passing the GST Bill. Besides, the proposed visit of national BJP president Amit Shah in July in Haryana was also discussed.

Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala while talking to the mediapersons after the meeting said that the announcements implemented by various departments in the past two and a half years tenure of the State Government was discussed. The party has also deliberated upon the new schemes to be implemented during the tenure of the present Government, he said.

The Government is working with the ideology of ‘Sabka Saath-Sabka Vikas’ and the Ministers have been asked to meet the general people to redress their grievances every month, he added.

Recently, the party workers were asked to remain present in their constituencies for atleast 15 days every month to disseminate information about the achievements of BJP led Central and State Government. The directions were issued at the state executive meeting of BJP held at Karnal.

Sources said that disgruntled party MlA from Gurugram, Umesh Aggarwal also met Subhash Barala on Tuesday to discuss his grievances.

Aggarwal is unhappy with the Haryana Government following the registration of a fraud case against his family members and has also, time and again raised questions on the functioning of the Government.
