Haryana Government has increased the milk purchase rate to Rs480 per kg fat from the earlier Rs460 per kg fat, said Minister of State for Cooperation Bikram Singh Yadav on Thursday. The subsidy of Rs4 per litre will continue under Mukhya Mantri Dugdh Utpadak Protsahan Yojana and milk producers will get a total rate of Rs540 per kg of fat.

The Minister, who reviewed the functioning of Haryana Dairy Development Cooperative Federation and its affiliated unions, said that for the first time, milk of desi cow would be collected, processed, packed and marketed separately by the Federation at Milk Plant, Kurukshetra, for which requisite infrastructure would be put in place.

He also spoke of launching products like Meethi Dahi, Chhena Kheer, Rabri, Masala Paneer, Besan laddoo and Burfi. To check adulteration, Yadav said proper testing facilities will be provided at the village level, and union committees will be formed. He informed that out of 700 milk analysers purchased, 624 have been installed in the societies by milk unions. The remaining 76 milk analysers would be installed by June 15. Yadav also said about modernising and upgrading all milk chilling centres.
