In a bid to ensure that deputy commissioners remain available to address the grievances of general public during the office hours, the Manohar lal Khattar Government has decided that the DCs will not hold video conferences before 5 pm except in case of emergency cases.
In a communiqué issued by Chief Secretary’s office on Wednesday, all administrative secretaries were asked not to hold video conferences with DCs before 5 pm.
“Haryana Government has decided that the administrative secretaries will hold video-conferences with DCs only after 5 pm except in cases of emergency.
This will ensure availability of DCs to the public during office hours, said the letter.
Earlier in May, the State Government had directed the deputy commissioners not to undertake any official tour beyond a day in a week and stay in district headquarters to address the grievances of general public.
The State Government had also asked the DCs to seek permission from the Chief Secretary in advance, in case their official tour is for more than a day in a week.
The Government’s directions had come following the allegations of several BJP MlAs and opposition that the top bureaucrats in the districts do not listen to them and benefits of several schemes are not reaching to the people of the state. Several MlAs had also alleged that bureaucrats are insensitive to people’s woes.
