Haryana Governor Kaptan Singh Solanki and Chief Minister Manohar lal on Sunday greeted the people of the State on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami.
In a message on the eve of Janmashtami, the Governor said the holy festival offered an occasion to the people to remember the teachings of lord Krishna, and strengthen the spirit of universal brotherhood and peace.
Describing the celestial message of Shreemad Bhagvad Gita delivered by lord Krishna in the battlefield of Kurukshetra, as a great contribution to humanity, Solanki urged the people to resolve to follow the life and teachings of lord Krishna on this auspicious occasion.
The Chief Minister said the divine message of lord Krishna enshrined in Shreemad Bhagvad Gita exhorts the mankind to have faith in and reverence for God, strive for the ultimate truth, and do one’s duty to the best of one’s ability without worrying about the fruits it would yield.
“The festival assumes special significance as lord Krishna had incarnated on this day to eliminate injustice from the planet and put an end to atrocities. The teachings and philosophy of lord Krishna are still relevant today and we should follow them to lead a successful life,” he added.
