A day after Congress and INlD announced support to the ongoing Jat reservation agitation in the State, Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on Thursday lashed out at the Opposition saying that they did nothing for Jat reservation during their rule in Haryana.

Capt. Abhimanyu while addressing mediapersons at Rohtak said that during its tenure of 10 years, Congress was never serious towards reservation and arrangements for reservation were made just 48 hours before announcement of lok Sabha elections so as to take political advantage.

If Congress was serious for reservation, it would have participated in Vidhan Sabha to get the Reservation Bill passed unanimously, said he.The Minister added that even INlD had not made efforts for reservation in its regime of about six years.A day before, leader of opposition and INlD senior leader Abhay Singh Chautala had visited Rohtak and met the Jat protestors asking them to continue their fight for reservation. Congress leaders had also met Jat protestors at Rohtak.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister said that the present Government had got a law enacted for reservation and then recommended that it be incorporated in 9th schedule of the Constitution.
