Haryana has put on fast-track the projects, worth more than Rs33,700 crore – both in-progress and being undertaken – to ensure their implementation within stipulated time-frame laid down in the project report, and in a transparent manner. Spanning mainly infrastructure, power, roads, public health and irrigation departments, work on projects worth Rs17,185.39 crore is apace, while projects worth Rs16,584.66 crore have been lined up for execution. Each project is estimated to cost more than Rs50 crore.
To ensure that there is no time or cost overrun involved in the execution of these people-centric projects, the Chief Minister Manohar lal will personally oversee on a regular basis monitoring by a high-powered cell of the day-to-day progress on these projects. “Committed to the all-round development of Haryana and making life easy for the man in the street through visible growth, the State Government has undertaken several projects worth crores of rupees and has lined up many more. We want to ensure their transparent and time-bound implementation so that people begin to reap their benefits,” said the Chief Minister.
He said that a solid beginning has already been made in this direction with the work getting kick-started on the much-delayed Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway and process having been set rolling for execution of Yamunangar-Bawana Expressway. “The intention is two-fold. One, the Chief Minister wants to give infrastructure which can help rev-up the engines of growth and has a spin-off multiplier effect on other segments of the economy, a decisive push,” he said. He added, “Secondly, he is keen that the benefits of progress should percolate down to the man in the street and that people should begin to derive benefits from these projects.”
“This thinking more than mirrors the visionary outlook and practical approach of the Chief Minister which is bound to have a positive impact on the execution of various projects in the State and bring results. More importantly, it is bound to send a message down the line that he means business,” he said. The fast-forward push militates against the laid back approach of the previous Government which kept several key projects on the drawing board and procrastinated on others, dogging the path to economic advancement, job creation and prosperity.
