Amid mounting pressure to withdraw the support to Manohar Lal Khattar Government in Haryana, Deputy Chief Minister and senior JJP leader Dushyant Chautala on Saturday met three senior Union Ministers and appealed to them to form a consensus on farmers’ demands.

Dushyant Chautala met Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Agriculture Minister Narender Singh Tomar and Rail Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi and appealed to them to end the deadlock over farm laws at the earliest.

Regarding farmers protesting at Delhi borders, the Deputy CM said that he hopes for the ongoing impasse to end in the next 24 to 48 hours.

He said both the sides are in favour of coming to an agreement and that is why there have been many rounds of talks till date. On some points both parties have agreed due to which one by one six rounds of talks have taken place. In the 24 page proposal sent by the Central Government, a written assurance is promised on the guarantee of MSP, he added.

He expressed hope that situation will soon return to normal on the Delhi-Haryana borders.

Dushyant reiterated that he is guaranteeing the MSP on the post of Deputy CM and if there is any threat to the MSP system, he will be the first to resign.

Haryana Government is giving MSP on maximum number of crops in the country and even this year maximum number of farmers has been profited by this, he said.

Dushyant, in his meetings with Union Ministers has advocated that these talks with farmers should be made a priority to achieve a positive result.

Talking to the mediapersons, the Deputy CM said that Haryana is the only state in India which has procured six crops on the minimum support Price.

Haryana has purchased maize crop at Rs. 600 per quintal more than the market price and bought millet at Rs 700 more than the market. At the same time, it procured 56 lakh metric tonnes of paddy on MSP and the money was sent to the account of the farmer, he added.

He further said that the farmers in Punjab are distressed with a system of Punjab Government due to which they are on agitation.

The Deputy CM said that over 1000 Civil Administration personnel of Haryana Government are serving on the Delhi border.

Dushyant further said that he had earlier also talked with the Union Ministers.

The Central Government’s negotiators are positive and we want to end the deadlock.

The farmers’ union leaders should form a consensus among themselves and talk to the Union Ministers and this will result in a solution of the impasse.

He said that the Centre is ready to give a written guarantee of MSP and this is the victory of the farmers.

Notably, thousands of protesting farmers from Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh among other neighbouring states have gathered at borders of the national capital to protest against Centre’s three farm laws.

The three farm laws are - The Farmers' Produce

Trade and Commerce (Promotion and Facilitation); The Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance; and Farm Services and The Essential Commodities (Amendment).
