Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal will embark on another foreign jaunt—this time to Israel—where he will attend Agri Summit and hold discussions on the implementation of bilateral programmes from May 8 to 10.

This would be fifth foreign tour of the Chief Minister, who had assumed power in October 2014 in Haryana.

Chief Secretary DS Dhesi on Friday during the meeting of Israel-Haryana Working Group said that the Chief Minister will be on Israel visit from May 8 to 10.

Israel's Ambassador to India, Daniel Cameron was also present at the meeting held in New Delhi. Discussions were held regarding implementation of bilateral programmes and schemes between Haryana and Israel in the meeting.

Dhesi, while interacting with mediapersons later, said that programmes of new techniques in different fields were being promoted between Israel and Haryana. He said that the bilateral assistance would be taken further in various fields.

Referring to the visits of Prime Ministers of India and Israel to each other’s countries, Cameron said that work was being carried out to implement their important announcements.

During the meeting, various issues were discussed such as assistance in setting up of Centres of Excellence for animal husbandry and dairy farm, assistance in setting up of Centres of Excellence for agriculture and horticulture, micro irrigation, assistance in development of smart cities, education and training, start-up ecosystem, assistance in incubation centre and start-up warehouse, security and cyber security.

Notably, the fourth foreign visit of the Chief Minister to Dubai last year had snowballed into a political controversy with the opposition accusing him of squandering public money on sightseeing trips abroad. last year, the Chief Minister had also led a high level delegation to Singapore and Hong Kong in a bid to attract investments for Haryana.

Prior to this, Manohar lal went for his first tour abroad to the US and Canada in August 2015 and in January 2016, he went to Japan and China to attract investments for the state.
