Infuriated over registration of vigilance case against Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA), BJP MP Anurag Thakur issued a clarion call of all out war against Congress government and demanded time bound parallel probe on allegations of HPCA and chief minister Virbhadra Singh.
“If this is the way of targeting sports institutions, then HPCA has also deployed its men to expose the corrupt practices of Congress government and each and every corrupt officials or ministers will be exposed in days to come,” threatened Anurag Thakur who heads HPCA. “The haste shown by vigilance bureau in lodging of FIR clearly shows the vindictiveness of Congress government as if HPCA is running out from the state or Hamirpur MP is fleeing the investigating agency,” alleged Thakur.
He said if Congress government is so much transparent, than chief Virbhadra Singh should order time bound six months probe into allegations which were leveled on him like allegations of bribery from Ispat industries while he was Steel Minister, how his income tax return showed hike of 30 percent hike, when no other apple orchardist made so, who burnt the state gazetteer and does chief minister has excessive lands or not, added Thakur
He clarified point by point on the allegations surrounding HPCA about land use change of its ‘Hotel Pavillion’ meant for players, construction of stadium and conversion of HPCA registered under society registration act into a section 25 non profit making company under Companies law board.
“We were forced to convert HPCA to a section 25, non-profit making company under the Companies law and registrar of companies granted due permission for it and with due permission from parent organization Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI),” said Thakur, adding that during previous Congress government a sport bill was passed by the state government to bring the sport organization under its control which was opposed by BCCI and IOA and so the need of conversion of society to a charitable company arose.
“HPCA is not the only sports organization which is a section 25 company but even Punjab Cricket Board and Haryana cricket board are also some of the sports institutions which are alike institutions in the country,” he added. He said that HPCA will cooperate in every investigation ordered by the state government and will fight every tooth and nail on the frivolous allegations. “We have done nothing wrong and people of the state are best judge in democracy,” said Thakur.
“Not a single public interest work has been done in past seven months by the Congress government and to divert the attentions from real issues, such frivolous cases are being lodged against the sports institutions which brought laurels to the state internationally,” added Thakur who was heading to lead a protest at deputy commissioner officer of Shimla against the killing of five security personnel in Poonch sector of Jammu and Kashmir on late Tuesday night.
