HP has become a den of corruption: Dhumal

Senior BJP leader and former Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, on Tuesday claimed that Himachal Pradesh had become a den of corruption as the present Congress Government had completed half of its tenure of non-performance.“All development works had come to a grinding halt. The worst condition of roads had damaged tourism industry. Even the national highways which were under the NHAI which bore all the expenditure on their maintenance were in bad shape dotted by big potholes. With the break of monsoon the tarring work of roads had been delayed for another 2-3 months,” he said.

Dhumal regretted that no one in power seemed to be serious about the development and prosperity of the State.Without referring to anyone, he termed it “funny and ridiculous” that some leaders allegedly involved in corruption were pretending to enforce zero tolerance to corruption. He said Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh had wasted 30 valuable months in doing inaugurations and laying  foundation stones. He alleged that political vendetta against his detractors and political opponents took place during his tenure of two-and-half years.Dhumal also lamented that the tourist season was marred by the imprudent decision of the NGT which imposed high charges on vehicles going to Rohtang Pass.
