About four months ahead of the Assembly polls in Himachal Pradesh, the State BJP on Friday started its threeday executive meet at Deep Kamal, the State BJP headquarter here to finalise its poll strategy to defeat ruling Congress.
The party is expected to highlight issues of law and order situation in the State and the State Government’s policies. The saffron party has time and again raised the issue of failure of State to take advantage of the Central scheme and the State executive is likely to do brain storming on the issues to be taken up in the Monsoon session of the State Assembly.
The issues of ticket allocation would also be discussed on the sidelines of the meet but the leaders have said that the high command would take a final call.
BJP has been constantly tightening up screws around the ruling Congress, as the legal, social and political developments in the state had caught the ruling party on wrong foot of late.
Inaugurating the state executive meet, state BJP president Satpal Singh Satti claimed that the victory of BJP in the assembly polls is inevitable but the party cadre would not take the election lightly and the workers would keep up the pace of their campaign of public outreach till the party formed its government in the state. Satti claimed that the contest of the state was for 60 seats (BJP) and 8 seats (Congress)
Satti said the Kotkhai gang rape would prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the Congress rule in the State. He said Congress policy of harbouring criminal elements had resulted in law and order problems in the State, adding that in the four and half year rule of Congress more than 150 cases of rape were suppressed by the State Government.
The BJP leader said Kotkhai gang rape, murder of the forest guard and molestation of an innocent kid in Kullu were glaring examples of the failures of Congress to provide a secure atmosphere in the state. He said the warm response of people to the Parivartan Rath yatra and Dalit Swabimaan Sammelan was a proof that the people had decided to shut out the Congress from the state.
Satti claimed that the Congress was nowhere in the contest at present and some Congress leaders were in his touch to find a place in the saffron party.
