Alleging collapse of law & order in Himachal Pradesh, BJP legislative party on Monday sought dismissal of the Virbhadra Singh Government in the State.
The party submitted a memorandum to Governor Acharya Dev Vrat accusing Virbhadra Singh Government of complete failure in maintaining law and order in the State.
The legislators of BJP met the Governor after casting their votes for presidential elections. led by leader of Opposition, Prem Kumar Dhumal and BJP state president Satpal Singh Satti, the BJP legislators handed over a two page memorandum to the Governor, in which the saffron party had alleged that the state seemed to be Governed by anti-social elements. The BJP legislators apprised the Governor of the rising graph of crime in the State, the inability of the Government to protect the life and liberty of the people of the state and the alleged recent swindle of police in the Kotkhai gang rape and murder case. The memorandum reads that the recent heinous gang rape and murder of a minor school girl and subsequent move of the police officials concerned to cover up the crime shows the insensitive attitude of the Government, which kept refusing to refer the matter to CBI. BJP leaders said that the massive protests by the people forced Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh to hand over the probe to the CBI, however, the Government had not explained the reasons for protecting the real culprits and why the photographs of the suspects were withdrawn from Chief Minister’s facebook account, and why were the photos removed, while they could have been major clues for the investigation.
Recent killing of forest guard Hoshiyar Singh in Karsog forest in Mandi was also mentioned in the memorandum. The BJP leaders alleged that in the killing of Hoshiyar Singh also, the State police attempted to give it a colour of suicide. The memorandum alleges that a boy was brutally murdered in Shimla and his body was thrown in the water tank, but police could not find the culprits and now the father of the victim had been making rounds of the courts to seek justice for his son.
