Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday called for building a consensus to maintain decorum in the State assemblies and Parliament.
Replying to a query on the ruckus in the State Assembly by the Congress MlAs during the recently concluded budget session, he said it was “a nationwide problem.”
“It was unfortunate that the Congress leadership in the State has not paid heed to run the proceedings in the State Assembly in a smooth manner. The Congress leaders misused their position by helping an unauthorised person to enter the Assembly premises, thereby breaching security and instead of apologising for their mistake, the Congress leaders created ruckus in the House and undermined the democratic norms and ethics of the House,” he added.
The Chief Minister said that in another shameful act, the Congress leaders exhibited grave disrespect to the Chair. “Congress leaders should have upheld the honour and dignity of the august Huse rather than indulging in such derogatory acts,” he added.
