Hooda slams Opp for using BJP, Modi to win lS polls

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday attacked the Opposition and said that the INlD got two seats in the last lok Sabha elections because they misled the people during their campaign about their support to Narendra Modi.

But, when the PM called on the President of India to submit his claim to form the Government, INlD was missing from his list, said Hooda.

The Chief Minister, who was addressing a Press conference, said that after the ensuing Assembly elections, the INlD would be wiped out from the State and Congress  would be the biggest challenge for the BJP.

Hooda who has been facing major political attacks recently, sounded confident while saying that the Congress would form the government in the state for the third consecutive term as he being an experienced politician could read the faces and moods of the voters and he had observed their enthusiasm.

The Chief Minister said, “As long as he has the blessings of UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, support of his legislators and the voters, he would continue to serve the State and election would be contested under his leadership”.

Taking a dig at the functioning of the recently-formed BJP Government at the Center, Hooda said that during the last lok Sabha elections, the people created a wave in favour of an individual by saying that he would bring a magic stick, but now they are feeling cheated. Contrary to the promise of controlling price rise, the government has added to the woes of the people.

“They had said that they would implement the report of Swaminathan Committee, but they did not. Now the first budget of the new Central Government is to be presented and before that the expectations of the people have been turned into disappointments,” said Hooda.

Commenting upon the recent Iraq crisis and about the people of Haryana stranded there, he said that Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has assured him that efforts were being made to ensure safety of the stranded Indians.

The Chief Minister further added that communications are in process with the central government regarding toll tax barriers in the state and the State Government is waiting for a reply. Before wrapping up the conference he emphasised that his government has urged the Centre to give a bonus of Rs 300 per quintal for wheat to the farmers.
