A day after INlD released its election manifesto, Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday described the INlD manifesto as a mere eyewash.
Referring to the manifesto, Hooda said that the INlD was trying to take people up the garden path by making all sorts of tall promises. From the election manifesto, one can make out how many promises made by the INlD in its last manifesto had been kept. The people of Haryana are wise and won’t get carried away by false promises, he said.
The main Opposition party in Haryana, INlD had on Saturday released its election manifesto, promising to waive off loans of up to Rs2 lakh, 50 per cent job quota for sons of the soil in private sector, free scooters to college-going girls among other things.
Hooda said that the Congress Government had delivered more than what had been promised in the party manifesto. It is only with the efforts made by the State Government on the development front that Haryana has achieved number one position from the 14th position earlier.
Taking a dig at the INlD and the BJP, Hooda said when in power, they never gave even one foot of land to the poor. All that they did was to divide people in the name of caste and usurped their lands.
He said that during the lS elections in Uttarakhand, the Congress had lost all the five seats, but in the three bye-elections held after two months, the Congress won all the three with huge margins. Apparently, people have seen through the designs of the BJP Government. He expressed the confidence that the Congress would form Government for the third time in Haryana.
