Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, has congratulated the scientists and staff of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) for having successfully launched Mangalyan, India’s first Orbiter mission to Mars.

“The ISRO scientists and staff have done the country proud. They have successfully launched Indian rocket carrying the country’s first Mars Orbiter from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh. I heartily congratulate them on their rare feat,” the Chief Minister said in a statement issued here.

“The launch not only allows India to leapfrog into the elite group of space explorers to Mars but also earns Indian scientists a respectful place on the high table of global science. Only NASA, the former Soviet Union and the European Space Agency have previously been successful in sending probes to the red planet”, Hooda added.
