Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Saturday exhorted the party workers to gear up for the Assembly elections saying the party was in the process of raising a force of two lakh dedicated workers for the polls. He claimed that it is on their strength that he would come back to power for the third consecutive term.
“I have directed officers in the State to give a sympathetic hearing to all the party workers who visited them for their work and those who would not abide by these orders would not be spared”, he added. Hooda said that during the last nine years, his Government had implemented a number of welfare schemes for all sections of society be it farmer, labourers, traders, employees etc.
Special schemes have been framed to improve the economical condition of farmers and also made them debt-free. Ridiculing the Gujarat model, he said if it is implemented in Haryana, the Old Age Allowance of Rs 1,000 would be reduced to Rs 400; petrol prices would have to be hiked by Rs 7/ litre; and the scheme of giving scholarships to SC children right from Class I would be withdrawn.
Addressing party workers in Yamunanagar, Hooda took a dig at the BJP, and said that some leaders talked about pulling down the Congress Government in the State if they wanted. “If this is the situation, what these leaders are waiting forIJ They are misleading the people. I have the support of people of the entire State,” he claimed.
Referring to the lok Sabha elections, Hooda said that it was a wave which had been created in favour of a particular individual. People have voted for an individual, not for a party. Speaking on the occasion, HPCC President, Ashok Tanwar, said that the forthcoming elections would be contested under the leadership of Hooda. “Those working actively for strengthening the organisation would be given priority in the reconstitution of party organisation at block and district level, and also given appropriate participation in the Government,” he said. Tanwar cautioned party leaders not to air their grievances in the public and do so only in party fora.
