Hooda downplays Rao's dicision to quit Cong

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Thursday downplayed the decision of Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit not to contest the next elections on Congress ticket saying the leader would soon realise that his decision was not correct.

Replying to a volley of questions during a Press conference here, Hooda described Congress as a very big party, adding that the organisation had made a major role in making Rao Inderjit what he was today. “In days to come, Rao Inderjit would himself realise that his decision was not correct. In politics, one cannot ignore the possibilities”, he said.

Hooda said that there was no official confirmation about Rao Inderjit quitting the party and added that he had not received any written communication in this regard. He said the Gurgaon MP had been his class-fellow as well as a friend and he would not like to comment on his decision.

Asked whether Rao Inderjit’s quitting the party could affect the prospects of the Congress in south Haryana, Hooda said many other elected representatives also hailed from that part of the State. He said, Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, Rao Dan Singh, Shruti Choudhry, Rao Narender, Rao Dharampal and Anita Yadav were all from Southern Haryana.

To a query whether Rao Inderjit indulged in anti party activity, Hooda said that the HPCC president Phool Chand Mullana might tell about it.
