Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Friday refuted allegations that linked up his name with the selected candidates by Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) recently.
Reports had it that around two-thirds of the 30 candidates selected to Haryana Civil Service posts this year are relatives of political leaders and influential bureaucrats, including relatives of Hooda himself and his son Deepinder Hooda’s relatives. The candidates selected by the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) also included Ekta Chopra, daughter of M S Chopra, OSD to Haryana chief minister, daughter of the HPSC chairman Manbir Singh and Rohit Yadav son-in-law of the state power minister Capt. Ajay Singh Yadav amongst others.
It is also said that the candidates were selected after a three-stage process that involved a preliminary exam, main exam and interview. The final result for 151 posts of HCS and allied services, which included the 30 HCS posts, was declared in October. “All those with the surname of Hooda are not his relatives and none of his relatives figure in the list of newly selected Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officers”, said Chief Minister Hooda.
However former IAS officer RS Choudhery asked for a thorough enquiry of the entire recruitment process by SIT under the supervision of sitting judge of Supreme Court or High Court. Meanwhile, the Indian National lok Dal (INlD) demanded a high level judicial enquiry regarding HCS recruitment scam. Ashok Arora, state president of INlD alleged that most of the selected candidates to Haryana Civil Service posts this year are either relatives of political leaders and influential bureaucrats including relatives of Hooda and his son Deepender Hooda’s relatives. He added that jobs are being auctioned in the State.
