Former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Sunday announced the Sampoorna Kranti rally in December to start an all-out campaign to vote out the Bharatiya Janata Party Government from the state.
Hooda, who launched the sixth phase of the Jankranti Yatra from Pehowa in Kurukshtra district of the state, said the democratic battle against the anti-people BJP government would start with the Sampoorna Kranti rally in December.
He said the BJP government is so disturbed with the massive outpouring of support in the Jankranti Yatras that they have started lodging false and fabricated cases which will not deter him from raising issues of the people of Haryana.
“We will expose the complete failure of the BJP government in the state and would also shape the future direction of politics in Haryana. Till then, the Jankranti yatra would keep moving to the cities, towns and villages of the state, representing the hopes and aspirations of the people of the state,” Hooda said while addressing a gathering at the Anaj Mandi in Pehowa and added that the yatra would travel through remaining assembly segments starting from September 17.
Attacking the BJP government in Haryana, the two-time former Chief Minister said the government has lost its sleep over the massive outpouring of support for the Jankranti Yatra in the state. “The Government wants to silence my voice by lodging false and fabricated cases against me. Till I have blood running in my veins, I will keep raising issues of people,” Hooda said, warning the BJP Government in the state.
Hooda said the BJP has promised Achche Din for the people of Haryana but Achche Din have become a nightmare for the people of the state and every day has become a struggle for the people.
He further said, once the Congress government is elected after the next assembly elections, old age pensions would be raised to Rs 3,000 per month, electricity tariffs would be reduced by half, a loan wavier scheme would be brought for farmers and the poor and application fee for job applications would be waived off.
He went beyond his promise of providing the same pay-grade as government employees in Punjab and said the Congress government would provide better benefits that the government in Punjab.
Lashing out at the BJP governments in the Centre and the state over high taxes on petrol and diesel, he said the rising price of petroleum products has added to the misery of the middle class, who is suffering due to inflation and declining incomes.
“Haryana had the lowest prices of petrol and diesel when the state had a Congress government. If the people of Haryana give us an opportunity to serve them again, petrol and diesel would once again be the lowest in Haryana,” the former Chief Minister said and called on all Congress workers to support the Bharat Bandh called by the party on September 10.
Hooda said that unlike the INLD and the BJP, he does not make false promises and that he delivers on his promises.
He also promised to open training centers in each district for poor families, especially backward and scheduled castes and added that Pratibha Kendra would opened where meritorious students from these sections would be provided free special coaching for IAS, IPS and HSC.
Hooda further said the 2004 scheme of discontinuing pensions is not feasible and the Congress would restart the pension scheme, when it is elected back to office.
Congratulating medal winners in the recent Asian Games, he said these sportspersons should be provided prize money and jobs at the earliest.
“Medal winners from Haryana, irrespective of which team they played like Railways or Services, should be rewarded and there should be no conditions attached as it breaks their morale. Even if the present government does not reward them, sportspersons should not lose heart, they would be given their due once the Congress returns to power,” he added.
