Hisar INLD MP Dushyant Chautala on Wednesday gave an ultimatum to the Haryana Government to unveil the 63-foot- tall statue of peasant leader late Sir Chhotu Ram at his native village Garhi Sampla in Rohtak by November 1.

The INLD leader, who alongwith party workers reached Chhotu Ram museum in Sampla, also said that the statue will be unveiled will him if the government fails to unveil it by November 1.

The party workers led by Dushyant Chautala on Wednesday held a protest against the State Government outside the Chhotu Ram museum, where the statue has been installed but is yet to be unveiled.

Union Minister Birender Singh, who is grandson of Chhotu Ram had announced that the statue will be unveiled by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Lashing out at the BJP led Central and Haryana Governments, Dushyant Chautala said that it is really shameful that the Union Minister and Haryana Government has failed to get time from the Prime Minister in the past nine months to unveil the statue.

He alleged that Birender Singh is only interested in doing politics in the name of Chhotu Ram and is not concerned about unveiling of the statue.

Earlier, police force was deployed at the museum to stop the INLD workers from entering it.

Yash Garg, Deputy Commissioner, Rohtak and SP Jashandeep Singh Randhawa were also present on the occasion and assured the Hisar MP to do the needful for unveiling the statue by November 1.
