Himachal Pradesh Guv designate receives warm welcome by CM Singh

Himachal Pradesh Governor designate Acharya Devvrat was accorded a warm welcome on reaching Shimla by Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and his Cabinet colleagues. Apart from the Chief Minister, Prem Kumar Dhumal, leader of Opposition, Mukesh Agnihotri, Industries Minister, Dr.(Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister, Vinay Kumar,  Chief Parliamentary Secretary, MlAs, Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of various Boards and Corporations, Tikender Panwar, Deputy Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Shimla, P Mitra, Chief Secretary, VC Pharka and PC Dhiman, Additional Chief Secretaries, Sanjay Kumar, Director General of Police and other senior civil and police officers of State Government received him at Raj Bhawan.

Interacting with the media, the Governor designate said that he was happy to be in Dev Bhoomi, Himachal Pradesh and have heard a lot about the hospitality of the people of the state. He said Himachal was known as land of Gods and the people were soft and kind hearted. The Governor designate said that God had given him an opportunity to know more about the culture and customs of the State. He said that his priority would be to take both the ruling and the Opposition along for development of the State.Acharya Devvrat will take oath as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh on August 12 at Raj Bhawan.
