Himachal Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur will launch a campaign against drug abuse on December 5 at Baddi in Solan district.
Presiding over a preparatory meeting in this regard here, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar asked the departments concerned to make all pre-arrangements for success of this campaign.
He directed the education department to hold talks in morning school assemblies and organising essay writing, painting and debate competitions on drug menace to make students aware about ill effects of drugs. The official said rallies should also be organised for making general public aware about drug abuse. He said that NGOs, representatives of local bodies including Beopar Mandals etc. should be involved in it.
Kumar said fight against drug abuse is priority agenda of State Government adding that to generate awareness the State Government has decided to launch a state vide systematic and focused drive.
Director Information & Public Relations Harbans Singh Brascon, Director Language Art and Culture, representatives of Education, Police, Health and CEO BBNDA were present in the meeting.
