With local girl Kangana Ranaut getting the National Award for best actress, people here broke into impromptu celebrations. Ranaut, who was adjudged the best actress for her work in  Queen in the National Film Award, hails from a sleepy village Bhambla, located in the arid sub-division Sarkagaht of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh.

In Queen Kangana has played the role of a girl who was ditched by her fiancee and in freakish fit of frustration she sets on a honeymoon sojourn abroad intriguingly alone. Prior to this, Kangana had also been given the National Award for Fashion. In her short stint as an actress she has earned a name. Some of her popular films are Gangster (2006), Fashion (2008), Tanu weds Manu (2011), Queen (2013) and Revolver Rani (2014).

Vikas Bahal has stitched the film for which Ranaut has nailed her place in Bollywood. The award will be handed out to her by the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee on May 3 at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi.
