Conceding the long pending demand of nambardars, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday announced to enhance their monthly honorarium from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 from January 1, 2015.
The decision was taken by Badal in a meeting with the delegation of Punjab Nambardars' Union led by its president Gurpal Singh Samra at Punjab Bhawan on Monday evening.
Responding to another demand regarding the release of their arrears on account of their outstanding honorarium, the Chief Minister asked the Financial Commissioner Revenue to ensure its clearance positively by December 31, 2014.
