Haryana Government would honour those persons or organisations that would play a significant role in effective implementation of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana.
Yogender Singh Malik, Adviser (Beti Bachao Beti Padhao) to Haryana Chief Minister, while addressing a press conference at Rohtak on Sunday said that the Chief Minister has announced that such honour would be given at school and district level.
He said that 100 districts have been identified at national level with imbalanced sex ratio and these 100 districts included 12 districts of Haryana. The State Government is setting up Balika Manch (girls’ platform) in schools of the state which would be used to spread awareness among people, said he.
Malik said that this campaign has a detailed action plan under which merely putting a check on female foeticide is not enough, but overall physical and mental development of girls would be ensured so that they could get educated and work for society and the country.
He said that Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Yojana included putting a check on dropping sex ratio, treat anaemia among girls, deal with malnutrition, provide better education and ensure that girls do not drop out of school.
