Have to pay more for CET in Haryana jobs sans Aadhaar

The government job aspirants in Haryana without Parivar Pehchan number or Aadhaar number will have to pay a double amount for common eligibility test (CET) processing fee as compared to those having either of the two documents.

As per the new rules notified by Haryana Government for common eligibility test for recruitment to group C and D posts, the male residents (general category, children of ex-servicemen) of Haryana who provide Parivar Pehchan number (PP number) or Aadhaar number during registration will have to pay the processing fee of Rs 500 while those without any of the two documents will have to shell out Rs 1000.

The applicants including females, ex-servicemen, disabled persons and those belonging to scheduled caste, backward class, economically weaker sections, who provide PP number or Aadhaar number will have to pay the fee of Rs 250 while those who do not provide PP number or Aadhaar will have to pay Rs 500.

Similarly for non-residents of Haryana, those who provide Aadhaar number will be paying Rs 500 exam fee while those who fail to furnish the details of Aadhaar will have to pay Rs 1000.

The State Government has recently notified The Haryana Parivar Pehchan Act 2021 aimed at creating a unique identification number for each family in Haryana, and preparing a database enabling the families to access various government services and schemes in the state.  Around 64 lakh families have already completed their registration under PPP.

According to the rules for CET, the applicants who have neither Parivar Pehchan number nor Aadhaar number shall be eligible for the registration but will have to pay more for exam fee. The registration for CET is currently ongoing on Haryana’s one-time registration portal.

The test shall be conducted once every year by the Haryana Staff Selection Commission,

The written examination component of the CET score of an applicant shall be valid for a period of three years from the date of declaration, by notification, of the result of the test. Also, there shall be no restriction on the number of attempts to appear in the written examination component of the CET. If an applicant who has already qualified the CET for group C and/or D post will have the option to appear again in CET to improve his score in the next or any subsequent occasion, the rules stated.

The State Government had earlier this year announced to introduce the common eligibility test  for all group C and D posts doing away with the interview system in the recruitment.

The rules notified by the State Government further said, “For group C posts, the essential minimum qualification shall be l0+2 or as per provision in service rules and for group D posts, the same shall be matric or as per provision in group D Act.”

“For selection against an unreserved post, a candidate has to secure at least 50 percent marks in the written examination, to be considered for selection or recruitment. In case of selection or recruitment against reserved category post, (whether vertical or horizontal) candidate has to secure at least 40 percent marks in the written examination. CET score includes the maximum 5 percent marks of experience and socio-economic criteria, obtained if any,” the rules said.

“The record of CET shall be preserved for one year from the date of declaration of result in hard copy. Digital copy of records shall be retained for five years. All legal disputes with regard to the CET shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts at Panchkula (Haryana) only,” it added.

Notably, the Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had last month informed the Haryana Vidhan Sabha that this test shall be either computer based test or Optical Mark Reading (OMR) based test and it shall be bilingual i.e. both in Hindi and English. The CET shall be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) established by the Union Ministry of Education.
