To create awareness about the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' programme in Haryana, the State Government is planning to get the logo of the campaign stamped on the hand of the voter in addition to the indelible ink applied on the finger during the upcoming panchayat elections.

Haryana Women and Child Minister Kavita Jain on Sunday said the Government is planning that BBBP logo would be stamped on the hand of every voter at the time of voting in the State to spread awareness about the campaign.

Polling for Panchayat elections would be conducted in three phases starting January 10, 2016 in Haryana, where 1,10,09,317 people are eligible to cast their ballot, of which 59,04,696 are men and 51,04,621 are women.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the BBBP programme on January 22 from Panipat in 100 districts of the country with lowest sex ratio which included 12 districts of Haryana.

The campaign was launched from Haryana as the State has the worst sex ratio at 879 females per 1,000 males. The State Government had in July appointed actress Parineeti Chopra as brand ambassador for the 'BBBP' programme to promote the cause of the girl child.

The Manohar lal Khattar-led Haryana Government had also announced to give a reward of Rs 1.50 lakh to the village, which would be successful in improving the skewed sex ratio and check female foeticide.
