Haryana Government has formulated a new scheme known as ‘Hamari Phulwari’ to give a facelift to Anganwadi Centres under Anganwadi Adoption Programme. The scheme has been approved by Chief Minister Manohar lal.
The scheme aims at seeking contributions in cash or kind from the panchayats, municipal councils, individuals and civil organisations for selected anganwadi centres so as to make it more attractive, child friendly and convert these centres on modernised pattern so that parents feel proud to send their children to anganwadi centres for non-formal pre-school education, said a spokesman of Haryana Women and Child Develop- ment Department.
He said that the objectives of this innovative scheme included building robust
physical and digital infrastructure at anganwadi centre and support capacity development programmes of anganwadi workers, helpers and supervisors in various fields such as early childhood education and care, nutrition and health education.
Their contributions can be in the form of physical infrastructure, health equipments, teaching and learning equipments, capacity building and training programme. They may also help in implementation of Supplementary Nutrition Programme and strengthen Haryana Kanya Kosh, said the spokesman.
He said that those who wish to make contribution under this scheme would
have to submit their application to the concerned Women and Child Development Project Officer (WCDPO). A Memora-
ndum of Understanding (MOU) would also be signed between the donor and
the WCDPO, said the spokesman.
While referring to the benefits of making such donations, he said that in case the value of the item or the amount donated for an Anganwadi Centre is more than `1 lakh, the name of the donor would be displayed in the anganwadi centre.
The contribution would also be acknowledged on the department portal and a recommendation certificate would be issued by the WCDPO, he said.
The donors would be invited to official functions at district level, he added.
