Haryana Transport Minister, Aftab Ahmed on Monday appealed to the employees of State Roadways to withdraw their strike call in the  larger interest of the common people. “All have equal right to express their views in democracy but at the same time it should be ensured that general public should not face any problem by such protests,” he said.

A meeting on the issue of Roadways strike was held in his office in which Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sultan Singh Jadaula, Deputy Principal Secretary to Chief Minister RS Doon, DGP SN Vashisth, Transport Commissioner Sumita Misra, Director General of State Transport Nitin Garg were present. After the meeting, Transport Minister said that maximum demands of roadways employees have been accepted; however, they are still continuing the strike on the issue of permits to private buses showing their stubbornness. “Private bus permits will not harm the interest of the government employees in any manner. The State Government would increase the fleet of roadways buses and not a single employee would be retrenched,” he added.
