Haryana Government has decided to strengthen basic infrastructure in the old industrial areas functioning in the state.
Urban local Bodies Minister, Kavita Jain on Thursday said special repair works would be carried out in these industrial areas by the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and public facilities would be provided by the municipalities.
The State Government has prepared a plan to strengthen infrastructure in these areas in coordination with different departments, she said.
The Minister said before the formation of Haryana, industrial areas were set up in Yamunanagar, Panipat, Bahadurgarh, Sonipat, Gurugram and Rohtak. Earlier, the Industries Department was maintaining these industrial areas but the responsibility was handed over to the HSIIDC in 2012.
She said that a meeting in this regard was held where it was decided that the HSIIDC would prepare estimates of the special repair of the industrial area near Kalupur Chungi in Sonipat in coordination with the Public Health Engineering Department and the Municipal Corporation, Sonipat.
The HSIIDC would conduct special repairs and hand over the responsibility of maintenance to the municipal corporation concerned, she said.
