Haryana Tourism Minister Ram Bilas Sharma on Wednesday said that to promote tourism, two “Saraswati Express” buses will be started between Adibadri and Delhi, and from Kala Amb to Sirsa from December Thursday.
The Saraswati Express from Adibadri will be flagged off by Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kanwar Pal and Transport Minister Krishan lal Panwar whereas the Minister of State for Renewable Energy Nayab Singh Saini will flag off the Saraswati Express from Kala Amb.
Interacting with mediapersons at Haryana Civil Secretariat, Sharma said that since the origin of Saraswati River has been confirmed in Adibadri, district Yamunanagar, the place has become famous in terms of tourism not only in the State, but in the country.
“The number of tourists visiting this place has been increasing day-by-day. There is transport facility from Delhi to Yamunanagar but to provide better transport facility to tourists from Yamunanagar to Adibadri, the State Government has taken this decision,” he said.
Replying to a question, Sharma said that the area where existence of Sarasvati River has been confirmed, is being developed as a Mega Project in tourism sector. The Central Government is also playing major role in it. He said that earlier people used to listen stories and tales about Sarasvati River and some people used to consider it as a mystery. Now, scientific institutions like ISRO and NASA have confirmed its existence, he added.
The Tourism Minister said that on the pattern of Gita Jayanti, a decision has been taken to organise Sarasvati Utsav in Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra and Kaithal. In these functions, information would be provided by scholars about the Sarasvati River and also literature would be distributed among people.
