Haryana to roll out e-way bill from February 1

Published on:

The e-way bill will come into effect in Haryana from February 1 for smoother, swifter and easier intra-State and inter-State movement of goods.

The e-way bill was required where movement of goods valued at Rs 50,000 or above is involved, said a spokesman of the Excise and Taxation Department.

He said that the taxpayers and transporters need not visit any tax office or checkpost for generation of e-way bill or movement of goods across states. The e-way bill can be generated through web-online using browser on laptop or desktop or phone.

Apart from this, it can also be generated through android based mobile app on mobile phones and via SMS through registered mobile number, he said.

The spokesman said that the e-way bill is a user-friendly system and it can be generated easily and quickly.

He said that Application Program Interface is also available for generation of e-way bill. Similarly, it can be generated through tool-based bulk generation and third-party based system of Suvidha providers. A consolidated e-way bill can be generated for vehicle carrying multiple consignments.

The e-way bill system had been rolled out on a trial basis from January 16, 2018, he added.
