Aiming to improve the healthcare system in the State, the Manohar lal Khattar Government in Haryana is in the process of hiring consultants to oversee the implementation process and monitor various health related schemes.
The consultants, to be recruited at the State and district level, will assist the Government in providing necessary information for planning, monitoring, evaluation and feedback related to healthcare system in Haryana. They will also help in identifying bottlenecks and will devise a strategy to improve public health facilities in the State.
Apart from recruiting 3-4 research or technical consultants at State level, the Haryana State Health Resource Centre (HSHRC) will hire on a contract basis around nine district level consultants to assist the State Government in strengthening the healthcare facilities.
Facing shortage of manpower in healthcare institutions, the State Government has initiated the recruitment process in various departments. While the process of recruitment to 368 posts of doctors and other staff in the AYUSH Department is likely to begin soon, the State Government will be recruiting more than 600 medical officers on a regular basis. Besides, the Government has decided to fill all vacant posts of homoeopathic doctors in the State.
“The recruitment process to fill vacant posts in various health institutions is in progress. Besides recruiting more doctors, the government is also looking to hire consultants, who can assist in implementation and monitoring of health related schemes and assessment of medical institutions,” said a senior official of Haryana Government.
“The consultants will be recruited in HSHRC as a part of ongoing recruitment drive to fill old vacant posts and newly created posts in a bid to strengthen the public health services,” said the official.
The State Government is also in process to set up a State level Board for consultation and stronger development of agri-food value chains in Haryana. Also, the government will be soon setting up a State Nutrition Mission, an independent body committed to bringing about a reduction in maternal and child under-nutrition rates in Haryana.
While the BJP led HaryanaGovernment has made big claims of improving healthcare services during more than two and a half years of its tenure in Haryana, a large number of posts in medical institutions are still lying vacant affecting the medical services in the State.
