Haryana Government has decided to provide solar chargers for the inverters installed at homes in the State.
Haryana Minister of State for Renewable Energy Nayab Singh Saini, said that in the first phase, the department had set the target to provide 3,500 solar chargers at the cost of Rs 290 crore in 2016-17.
He said that 300-watt chargers would be provided for charging 150AH battery and 600VA or 800VA inverters. Similarly, 500-watt chargers would be provided for charging 2x150AH battery and 1,400VA or 1,600VA inverters, he added.
Notably, Haryana Government had recently released its solar power policy 2016 to promote generation of green and clean power using solar energy and to harness the enormous solar power potential of the state.
The policy aimed at creating conducive atmosphere for the investors to invest in the state in the solar energy sector and envisaged to add 4000 MW of solar power by 2022.
For giving a boost to the solar energy sector, various incentives like industrial status, exemption in change of land use approval, electricity duty, besides free wheeling and banking facility, exemption of T&D, cross subsidy charges have been provided in the policy.
The State Government has also chalked out ‘Solar Water Pumping Scheme’ for farmers having small land holdings. The Union New and Renewable Energy Ministry has recently approved a proposal of HAREDA to install 3,050 solar water pumps for the implementation of this scheme.
