Presenting her views in the meeting, Vandana said that the Government should run campaign to make people aware regarding nutrition so that every person would pay attention towards nutritious food alongwith proper cleaning. Under this, people should be made aware not to defecate in open.

She said that the Government should identify malnourished children and provide them one-two month’s complete supplements so as to cover such children at the earliest. The ‘weight according to height’ and ‘height according to age’ should also be checked among malnourished children so that information regarding children’s health could be obtained.

Dr Saba said that nutrition should be tested at the level of motherhood and emphasis should be laid on institutionalisation of their delivery. Apart from this, the women should be educated before conception and made aware about cleanliness.
