Haryana Government has decided to launch a special recruitment drive to fill 34,000 vacant posts in Group-D category in the State.

The issue was discussed during routine informal cabinet meeting held under Chief Minister Manohar lal on Tuesday here.

Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Om Parkash Dhankar, while talking to the mediapersons after the meeting said the government has decided to launch a special recruitment drive to fill 34,000 vacant posts in group-D category.

On ongoing wheat procurement, Dhankar said the meeting hailed the bumper yield and record purchase of wheat this year. The state has procured more than 73.07 lakh metric tonnes of wheat so far.

Compensation for the crop loss due to fire would soon be disbursed to the farmers, he added.

The Minister also appealed to the farmers of the state not to burn wheat stubble as it not only adversely affect the environment but also diminished soil fertility.

He also informed that discussions were held at the meeting to further empower block samitis and zila parishads in the State. The sub-committee constituted under his chairmanship would soon start work on the fresh BPl survey which would be done by taking the population of 2011 as the base year. Cooperation of public representatives would also be ensured in this work, he added.

When asked whether Ministers and BJP MlAs are unhappy with the working style of Chief Minister, Dhankar said that there had never been any discontentment among members of the state Cabinet.

He also denied the media report that had claimed that Cabinet Ministers had expressed displeasure over the working style of Chief Minister in previous informal Cabinet meeting held at Faridabad.

A day before, Health and Sports Minister Anil Vij had also denied such report saying that no MlA or Ministers are unhappy with the Chief Minister and there is no truth in the media report.
